MOXXIE July Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,

Guess what day is today?  Yes, that is correct.  It is the first Friday of the month and that means it is Moxxie Blog Hop time.  This month we are going to shake things up just a bit!  Design Team Member Mary Pat Siehl has created another sketch for you and each Muse will show you their take on the sketch.  The Muses will be using all different Moxxie collections.  It is going to be so fun to see what collections the Muses are using and to see how each one interprets the sketch.

So let's get us started with the sketch!  This sketch is very fun and lends itself to many different interpretations.
Isn't this sketch great?

I chose to use the "Road to Recovery" Collection with a recent photo that was taken of my husband and I at our Relay for Life just a few weeks ago.  This photo was captured by a very dear friend and means so much to me.  Relay for Life is very special to me because I am a SURVIVOR, however this year my Aunt Wanda, was not there to walk beside me.  She lost her battle just a few weeks before this event.  I really enjoyed working with this sketch and it is so easy to change it up.  I used a 5"x7" photo instead of a smaller photo, and it worked great!

So let's get hopping.  Here are the Moxxie Muse's links.
Simply hop to ALL the blogs and Leave a Comment. Don't forget the final stop- The Moxxie Blog and leave a comment there.

So have I mentioned the Giveaway?  This month one winner will win ONE ENTIRE COLLECTION of their choosing from the Moxxie store.  Isn't that just so awesome????  I know!  It totally rocks!  So I know you are going to have fun today!

The hop starts today and the winner will be announced Wednesday July 10th, 2013 on the Moxxie blog.  Good luck!

Blessings & Hope...

Moxxie Blog Hop...Road to Recovery

It's time for another Moxxie Blog Hop! Join the Moxxie Muses the first Friday of every month to be inspired and for the chance to win a complete collection of the featured line! We're continuing our blog hop series with the Road to Recovery collection.

Moxxie released the Road To Recovery collection, an elegant and poignant line designed for people fighting long-term illnesses, in July. Moxxie thought it was time to create a beautiful line that focused on healing, but also encouraged the writer to be honest about what they were really going through. The designs of this collection are versatile and can not only help a patient document their recovery, but it can also be used for get well, thinking of you, and sympathy cards, as well as to create layouts on just about any topic.

This collection means so very much to me!  Cancer has affected my family in so many ways over the past 12 years.  In 2000, my father was diagnosed with Lung Cancer and he lived 8yrs fighting this nasty disease.  He was a hero in my eyes and definitely a fighter!!  Once he was diagnosed we begun to work with our local Relay For Life, which was just getting started in our county.  We continued to participate through the years and watched my father participate in the Survivor lap and met him half way through the Survivor lap and supoorted him!!  In August 2007, I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer and proceeded on with 2 surgeries.  In November 2007, my Aunt Wanda (my dad's twin) was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  This now meant that my dad would not have to "walk" the Survivor lap alone, my Aunt and I would both be by his side.  This is one of those laps that you DON'T ever want to have to participate in.  It was definitely a moment to cherish and one I will never forget!!  Unfortunately, it was my FIRST Relay For Life as a Survivor and my father's LAST one.  My dad passed away about 2 months later, and only 6 days before my 1yr Cancer Anniversary!!  I know he was next to me celebrating and he has been by my side through all of my ups and downs.  This layout that I created using this collection was a very difficult one to do, but rewarding in the end too!!  I hope you enjoy this collection as much as I do!!!

"Road to Recovery" File Folder Tutorial

Good Morning!!  I hope you all enjoyed our Blog Hop that took place
this weekend!! I am so blessed to be working with a
great group of ladies, and they all have GREAT inspiration!!
Don't forget to join us next month for our next Blog Hop!! It will
be just as much fun as the first!!!

In July, the new releases for Moxxie came out and this line
of paper just touched me so much that I knew what I had to make
with it....a file folder album/card. The paper is "Road to Recovery"...let me tell
you, this is an amazing collection of paper and embellishments.

Some of you might have seen these
file folders that I have created. The first time I made one was for Steve for
Valentine's Day a few years back. I have had so many people LOVE it and
requested that I teach classes on them, so I have!  Here is the
file folder that I created with this collection:

These are so much fun to create and really are simple, once you get the
hang of it!  I do have a tutorial up on the Moxxie blog on how to create
this cute little album!  So go check it out now!!
If you are around the area, and would like to take a class on
one of these file folders, just let me know.  I teach classes at my lss
A Paige 2 Remember, so you can come and learn how to create one
or pick up the paper for this project there too!!

Thanks for stopping today and I hope you get a chance to create one of these!
If you do, send me a link so that I can check it out!  If you have questions,
please feel free to ask!!  Have a wonderful day!!

Blessings & Hope...
